The Internet of Things (IoT) is already here in the sensors, devices, data and cloud infrastructure that connects the already numerous smart devices around us. Rahul Bhattacharyya is a Research Scientist for the Auto-ID Labs MIT. Rahul’s research interests broadly encompass the development and integration of technologies that form the framework for the Internet of Things. He is particularly interested in low-cost, pervasive sensor design using object identification technologies such as RFID and NFC.

David Albert, Founder, AliveCor
David Albert is a physician, inventor and serial entrepreneur who has developed life-saving products over the last 30 years and turned a number of those innovations into startups. David’s presentation, “The Importance of Big Data and Machine Learning for Empowering Cardiac Patients”, will explore how Machine Learning will enable personal cardiac care by identifying critical patterns in cardiovascular biometrics on ambulatory patients. Early identification of potential adverse events will enable timely interventions. Also, by engaging and educating the patient about their cardiac status improves compliance with therapeutic regimens and quality of life.
