Original
Honglak Lee is Assistant Professor of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Michigan. He received his Ph.D. from Computer Science Department at Stanford University in 2010, advised by Prof. Andrew Ng. His research interests span deep learning, unsupervised, semi-supervised, and supervised learning, transfer learning, graphical models, and optimization. He also works on application problems in computer vision, audio recognition, robot perception, and text processing.

At the 2016 Deep Learning Summit in Boston, Honglak shared expertise on Deep Learning With Disentangled Representations. We caught up with him during the summit, to learn more about his work and the future of deep learning.
