Changing Behavior - Building An Assistant That People Use
People love the idea of having a digital assistant. This is exactly what AI was meant for - a true Jarvis type experience. But the excitement dies out very quickly after the initial use. Its not as much because of lack of utility, but rather lack of familiarity. This session will talk about best practices Haptik has learnt from building an assistant service that processes >5 million requests a month, and keeps people coming back beyond the initial infatuation.
Aakrit Vaish is Co-Founder & CEO of Haptik, one of the world's leading chat bot platforms. Aakrit started the company from his house in 2013, and as of December 2016, employs close to 500 people and is the highest rated mobile app in India on Google Play. Aakrit has been responsible for pioneering the concept of chat bots way before companies like Facebook and Google launched assistants, and has been instrumental in raising multiple rounds of capital from marquee investors such as Times Internet and Kalaari Capital. Prior to Haptik, Aakrit was an early member of the team at Flurry, one of the world's largest mobile analytics and advertising platforms, acquired by Yahoo in 2014. He was also the Co-Founder and lead investor in Flat.to, an online real estate platform acquired by Commonfloor in 2014. Aakrit received his BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign and was named as a contender to the Forbes I ndia 30 under 30 list in 2015.
