Alec Nielsen is co-founder and CEO of Asimov, a synthetic biology company developing a mammalian cell engineering platform for next-generation therapeutics. The 20-person startup is backed by Andreessen Horowitz and DARPA's Artificial Intelligence Exploration program. Alec holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering from the University of Washington and a Ph.D. from MIT Biological Engineering. His research has focused on scalable biochemistries for synthetic biology, computer-aided design of cellular circuits, and machine learning applications in biosecurity.
