Andrei joined Accel in 2014, after spending close to a decade in the US. He is passionate about partnering with ambitious entrepreneurs, with a particular interest in software, data applications and financial services. Prior to Accel, Andrei was part of the Young Entrepreneurs Program with Foundation Capital in Menlo Park. Previously, he originated, implemented and managed algorithmic trading strategies at KCG, the largest equities high frequency trading firm in the US. Earlier he helped build a 3-person algorithmic trading startup on Wall Street focused on commodity futures. Andrei holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. He graduated with a degree in Mathematics summa cum laude from Princeton University. Previously, he was nationally ranked top 3 in the Romanian math Olympiad. He is fluent in German and also speaks native Romanian.
