Albert Wang is a Director at Qualcomm Ventures. His current investment areas are mobile, cloud, internet of things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI). Albert led the investments and currently serves as a board observer for AnyVision, AttackIQ, Avalanche Technology, BlueStacks, Cavendish Kinetics, Ineda Systems, Lookout, MapR, SteelHouse and Workspot. Previously, Albert led the team’s investments in Gaikai (acquired by SONY), PLUMgrid (acquired by VMware), Bracket Computing (acquired by VMware), CurbSide (acquired by Rakuten), and Ring (acquired by Amazon).
Prior to Qualcomm Ventures, Albert worked in various engineering and management roles in the wireless industry. Most recently, he worked at Lux Capital focusing on MEMS and nanotechnology startups. He also spent 4 years at Skyworks Solutions and managed the full lifecycle of several wireless chips that power the most popular smartphones. Albert received his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and his B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University.
