OpenSourceSDC's vision is to be the Android-equivalent for autonomous driving software. We believe that a completely open-source model, with accessible physical testing cars for anyone to test their code on (provided deemed safe by our team), would be best poised to push the frontiers of the technology – by crowdsourcing the microexpertises of people from around the world, regardless of whether they professionally work in the autonomous vehicles space. We want to encourage bringing the best practices from all tangentially-related domains into autonomous vehicles technology, and create a public benchmark model for regulations, policymaking, public accountability and implementation.
