Sian is an Operating Advisor at Monk’s Hill Ventures and co-Founder of Finaxar, a new Monk’s Hill portfolio company that helps SMEs manage their cash flows intelligently. He was an early investor and pioneer of touch-based feedback for Immersion (NASD:IMMR) and holds 10 patents in the field. Immersion’s technology is today felt through major console game controllers, automotive, medical and mobile systems. He then developed the spinout program for the Fraunhofer Society, Europe’s largest contract research organization that created the first digital audio standard and advised Primesense, makers of Microsoft’s Kinect. His love of sustainability later led him to start Thermagine, an energy storage company. Sian holds a BSc in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Bristol and M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University focusing on Intelligent Engineering Systems. He was an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the Kauffman Foundation.
