Toward AI Ethics: What, Why and How
Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods are rapidly gaining in importance in many critical applications in medicine, business, autonomous cars, banking, law etc. However, these AI methods are inherently complex and often difficult to understand and explain resulting in barriers to their adoption and validation. These concerns increased significantly in US among scientists but also among general public and politicians, evidenced in increased press and public attention to these issues. This led to the discussion of the need for more ethical AI. In this session we will explore issues related to AI Ethics: what AI ethics is, why it might be important and how to achieve, enforce and verify for it. After brief introduction to the topic we will engage the audience in the discussion addressing the above issues.
