Jan Erik Solem will show how collaborative image collection combined with computer vision can generate global map data at scale. Specifically, for automotive applications, it is possible to use a sensor-independent capture process that labels images and generates data for map editing workflows or for training automotive AI systems.

Jan Erik Solem is CEO and co-founder of Mapillary, a street-level imagery platform powered by computer vision. Mapillary provides images, data, and processing services for mapping and automotive. Previously, Jan Erik founded Polar Rose, a face recognition company that sold to Apple in 2010. Twice awarded WEF Technology Pioneer with these companies. Former associate professor at Lund University. Author of a best-selling computer vision book.
